We Hand-Approve
Every Artist

We don't mass-accept anyone who submits. Every artist on our roster was reviewed, approved, and chosen. That's the difference.

01

Submit Your Application

Fill out the artist application. Include links to your existing music, social presence, and a brief note on what you're working on and where you're headed.

02

Review & Listen

Our team listens and evaluates — quality of production, artistic direction, release readiness. We're looking for artists with a real trajectory, not just a finished track.

03

Approval & Onboarding

Accepted artists receive an onboarding link, access to the Artist Portal, and a setup call with a distribution coordinator. We walk you through the first release together.

04

Release & Track

Upload through the portal, we handle delivery, QC, and confirmation. Your analytics go live within days of platform approval — usually faster.

Why the Approval Process Matters

When a label hand-curates its roster, every artist benefits. Playlist editors, DSP curators, and industry contacts take a hand-approved roster seriously in a way they never do a mass-upload platform. When your music sits alongside other vetted, quality artists under the GE Music Group name, it carries more weight — not less. The approval process isn't a gatekeep. It's a credibility signal that works in your favor the moment you're on the other side of it.

Questions

Distribution FAQ

The things people actually ask before they apply.

GE Music Group is compensated through the monthly plan fee, not through a revenue share on your streaming earnings. Your royalties are reported transparently — every dollar accounted for.
You do. Completely. Distributing through GE Music Group does not transfer any ownership rights to your recordings, compositions, or publishing. You retain full rights to everything. If you leave, your masters come with you.
You can cancel at any time with 30 days notice. Your music will remain live on platforms through the end of your billing period, and we'll coordinate takedowns or transfers at your direction. There are no exit fees or penalties.
No. We review every application individually and listen to your work. We're looking for artists with quality production, a clear artistic direction, and some release history. If you're earlier in your career, the Starter plan application is still worth submitting — we evaluate each person on their own trajectory, not a fixed threshold.
After you submit through the Artist Portal, we typically deliver to DSPs within 2–5 business days. Spotify and Apple Music review times vary, but most releases go live within 3–7 days of submission to us. For release date targeting, submit at least 3 weeks in advance.
Starter covers the core: you get on every platform, you collect all your royalties, and you have portal access to manage releases and check analytics. Full Service adds active support — playlist pitching, PR campaigns, marketing coordination, and a dedicated coordinator working your releases. If you're putting out music you want real traction on, Full Service is where that happens.
Yes, with coordination. If your music is currently distributed through another service, we handle the takedown and re-delivery process to avoid conflicts. There will be a brief period where your music is unavailable on platforms during the transition — we'll plan this with you to minimize disruption.
Distribution covers master rights collection (streaming, download royalties). Publishing royalties (mechanical, performance) require separate registration with a PRO like ASCAP, BMI, or SESAC. We can advise on the process, but publishing administration is currently separate from our distribution offering. Full Service clients can discuss publishing coordination as part of their package.
